John Vitagliano is a Paintings Conservator who obtained his Masters of Arts and Certificate of Advanced Study in Conservation from The Art Conservation Program at the State University College in Buffalo, New York in 1993. Prior to his graduate studies in conservation John trained at the Brooklyn Museum, The Conservation Analytical Lab and the National Museum of American History both at the Smithsonian Institution, and at The Williamstown Regional Art Conservation Center. He has been a conservator in private practice in New York City since 1993 and his clients include various museums, galleries and private collectors. From 2006-2008 John was the Project Conservator for the Comprehensive Survey of the Collection at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and continues to work there as a contract conservator. Based in Litchfield County, John works with clients in New York City, Westchester, Connecticut, and Long Island.
